As a member of the Guest Experience Volunteer (GEV) Team you play a significant role in ensuring all guests and visitors to Ronald McDonald House Saskatchewan are greeted and welcomed with exceptional hospitality into the House environment. In addition, you help create a friendly and comfortable environment by assisting with the daily operations of the House, and supporting families as needed. As a Home for Dinner Host, you play a significant role in creating a warm, welcoming and comfortable environment for families while also supporting the donor groups who provide the Home for Dinner meal to guest families. During your shift, you also act as the ‘face’ and ambassador of the organization as you ensure the corporate and community groups feel valued, guided, and appreciated for their gift. This role requires the ability to read the room, balancing the needs of families (small groups, quiet voices, calm presence) with the donor group’s goals (team building, connection, and contribution). The Home for Dinner Host works under the direction of the Family Service & Programs Associate. As a member of the Ronald McDonald House Saskatchewan Volunteer Team, you play a significant role in creating a warm and welcoming environment for the families who stay here. Under the direction of the Facility Coordinator, you are responsible for the ongoing care and health of our indoor plants as well as assisting with organizing and refreshing common spaces ensuring that families are comfortable and support seasonal décor changes.
Living plants not only add beauty, but also purify the air, soften shared spaces, and offer families a comforting connection to the familiar sights and feelings of home. Plants often spark conversation and connection between volunteers, staff, and other families, which can bring comfort during a challenging time. By caring for the plants and floral arrangements in the House, you contribute to a space where every family feels respected and at home.
