14 Nights
Stayed

Our first stay at the Ronald McDonald House was during a very difficult stretch for Winnie and we knew we would be away from our home in Moose Jaw for an extended period. When we arrived at the House, both Preston and Mariah were amazed by the facility; it almost immediately felt like a home away from home. The Ronald McDonald House took the logistics off our plate so we could focus entirely on Winnie’s health. We were truly amazed at what an incredible place it was.

Every time we stay at the Ronald McDonald House, it is a reminder that there is good in the world. No matter how difficult or dark things seem, the House reminds us that people are good and people care. It is a reminder that you are not the only family going through hardship. Even now, after staying around 30 nights over 10 separate visits, we still gets tears in our eyes seeing volunteers give their time and effort to make our family supper and make our lives a little easier that day.

During visits where Winnie has been staying in the hospital, the House has been a place where Mom and Dad can go to get grounded, get some sleep, and refuel. Another extremely important aspect of the House is that it has allowed us to travel and stay together as a family; it provides a place for Winnie’s little brother to have fun in an environment away from the hospital.

Every time we leave the Ronald McDonald House, we are overcome with gratitude. We will be forever thankful for the House and everything it has provided for our family.
