Ronald McDonald House Saskatchewan: Saskatoon

KidsCare

The KidsCare program is made possible through a partnership between Tykes and Tots Early Learning Centre Inc. and Ronald McDonald House Saskatchewan. Facilitators from Tykes and Tots provide a nurturing environment for children to grow through educational play, with support from Ronald McDonald House volunteers.  The program is free for families staying in the House and runs each Wednesday from 6:00pm-8:30pm, and each Thursday from 8:30am-12pm.

Foundations Learning Family Literacy Program

Foundations Learning and Skills Saskatchewan brings the Family Literacy Program to Ronald McDonald House every month. This program brings fun and interactive literacy activities for kids 0-5 years old and their caregivers to help in daily routines of parenting. Facilitator Anita Fengstad has worked with hundreds of families over the years and has honed her skills in making literacy activities and reading fun for children and families. This program is also proudly supported by the Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation.

Family Connections

Family Service Saskatoon supports this program through a bi-weekly drop-in group. Family Connections offers families a safe space to decompress, de-stress, and connect- as well as resources to promote mental wellness.

Around the Kitchen Table

Navera Community Connections supports families through this program, providing caregivers with enriching support, helping to lessen the feelings of isolation and helping build on parenting tools and strategies.

MC College Self Care Night

MC College is proud to partner with Ronald McDonald House Saskatchewan: Saskatoon House, offering complimentary personal services. It’s a great opportunity for families to de-stress and enjoy some self-care while their child receives treatment. We offer manicures, hand massages and hairstyles.

Pet Therapy

In partnership with St. John Ambulance’s Therapy Dog Services, a volunteer pet-handler and their dog allow families to experience the benefits of the unconditional love of dogs. Zola and her handler Alexandria visit Ronald McDonald House bi-weekly, and are joined by Reacher and her handler Grace once a month.
